Pressure is force per unit area. Different fields use different units: tyres in PSI, weather in mbar or hPa, science in Pascals, diving in bar or atm. Converting between them is critical for safety in pneumatics and medicine.

Tip: Tyre pressure gauges read gauge pressure (above atmospheric). Absolute pressure = gauge pressure + 1 atm.
