Titration Calculator

Find unknown acid or base concentration

⚗️Titration Calculator

Titration is an analytical technique to determine the unknown concentration of a solution by reacting it with a solution of known concentration (the titrant) until the reaction is complete (the equivalence point), signalled by a colour change indicator.

  1. 1Fill burette with titrant of known concentration (Ca)
  2. 2Add measured volume of analyte (Va) to flask with indicator
  3. 3Add titrant drop by drop until colour changes (endpoint)
  4. 4Record titrant volume used (Vb)
  5. 5Cb = Ca × Va / Vb (for 1:1 stoichiometry)
0.1M HCl 25mL titrated against NaOH · endpoint at 20mL=NaOH concentration = 0.125M0.1×25/20=0.125M

Fun Fact

Titration is used in the food and beverage industry to measure acid content in wine, vinegar, and juices — an important quality control step.
