A soil volume calculator determines how much topsoil, compost, or mulch to order for a garden area at a target depth, converting to bags or tonnes for purchasing.
- 1Volume = Length × Width × Depth (all metres)
- 2Litres = m³ × 1,000
- 3Tonnes ≈ m³ × bulk density (topsoil ~1.1 t/m³)
- 4Add 10% for settling and wastage
