Henry's Law states that at constant temperature, the concentration of a dissolved gas in a liquid is directly proportional to the partial pressure of that gas above the liquid. C = P / kH.

Trinn-for-trinn guide

  1. 1C = P / kH (where kH is Henry's law constant, units L·atm/mol)
  2. 2Or: P = kH × C
  3. 3Temperature-dependent: gases become less soluble at higher temperatures
  4. 4kH for O₂ ≈ 769 L·atm/mol · kH for CO₂ ≈ 29.4 L·atm/mol

Løste eksempler

Inndata
CO₂ at 1 atm · kH=29.4 L·atm/mol
Resultat
C = 1/29.4 = 0.034 mol/L
Dissolved CO₂ in carbonated drinks
