Write numbers as words for checks

Numbers to Words

A digit-to-words converter converts numbers written in numerals (1,234) to their English word equivalent (one thousand, two hundred and thirty-four). Used in legal documents, cheques, formal writing, and accessibility applications.

💡

Tip: When writing cheques (checks), always write the amount in words AND numbers. Banks legally refer to the written words if there's a discrepancy between the two.

Fun Fact

The word 'billion' means different things in different countries. In the US (short scale), 1 billion = 10⁹. In some European countries (long scale), 1 billion = 10¹² (what Americans call a trillion). This difference has caused real diplomatic and financial confusion.
