A "what percent of" calculator answers the common question "what is X% of Y?" by computing X ÷ 100 × Y. For example, 15% of 240 = 36. Used for tips, discounts, sales tax, commissions, and any proportional calculation where the percentage rate is known but the absolute value is not.
