GPA (Grade Point Average) is a weighted average of grades, each converted to a 4.0 point scale. It is used by US universities and many others globally to measure academic performance.
- 1Convert each letter grade to grade points (A=4.0, B=3.0, etc.)
- 2Multiply each grade point by the number of credit hours
- 3Sum all quality points, divide by total credit hours
A (3cr) + B+ (4cr) + C (3cr)=GPA = 3.10(12 + 13.2 + 6) / 10 = 3.12
