APACHE II score predicts intensive care mortality based on 12 physiologic variables and chronic health. Higher scores indicate worse prognosis.

Hướng dẫn từng bước

  1. 1Score 12 variables: heart rate, mean BP, temperature, respiratory rate, oxygenation, pH, sodium, potassium, creatinine, hematocrit, WBC, Glasgow Coma
  2. 2Add age score and chronic health points
  3. 3Total 0-71; higher indicates mortality risk

Lỗi thường gặp cần tránh

  • Recalculating after initial admission (only first 24 hours counts)
  • Omitting any of the 12 components

Câu hỏi thường gặp

When is APACHE II useful?

Predicting ICU mortality, comparing patient cohorts, and understanding disease severity at admission.

What are limitations?
