An electrical outlet calculator helps determine the number of outlets needed per room to meet NEC code requirements. NEC requires outlets every 12 feet along walls (so no point is more than 6 feet from an outlet) and within 6 feet of door openings. Kitchen countertops need outlets every 4 feet.
