How to Calculate Photon Energy

What is Photon Energy?

A photon energy calculator uses Planck's equation (E = hf = hc/λ) to determine the energy of a photon at a given frequency or wavelength. A visible light photon (550 nm green light) has energy of 3.6 × 10⁻¹⁹ joules (2.25 eV). Higher-energy photons (UV, X-rays) cause more biological damage.
